Dancer of the Year!

The contest is open for all non-professional oriental dancers.
The number of contestants are limited to ten solo-performers and each will perform a choreography of no more than four minutes.

The winner will recive a festival pass with a value of up to NOK 3500, with free entrance to all workshops and shows at the next Oslo Oriental Dance Festival, and the opportunity to perform at the Saturday Night show february 12.th 2011, sponsored by Studio Orient.
She will also recieve
- a brand new design costume, curtesy of Istanbul Dreams, Turkey, with a value of NOK 4500
AND
- the title Dancer of the Year 2011 with the fantastic trophy for an entire year.

1st runner up
- DVD collection with a value of NOK 900 sponsored by Studio Orient.
- A one year subscription to he new bellydance magazine Al Raqassa! Sponsored by the publisher, Hilde Lund

2nd runner up wins a one year membership to Al Farah oriental Dance Association including all membership discounts and four editions of the Al Farah Magazine, value NOK 300. Sponsored by Al Farah.

RULES
Choreography: all contestants must present their own choreography. Guidance by another instructor is permitted.
Category: Oriental (themes like saidi, drumsolo etc in the music are accepted) Pure saidi, khaleegy, melaya and other styles are not accepted.
Length of material: maximum four minutes including intro.
Dress code: All contestants must dress appropriatly in a proper and decent costume.
Participation fee: NOK 500 (NOK 200 pluss entrance for the evenings show NOK 300, total NOK 500) The fee must be paid by january 15th and must be paid in full if you withdraw from the contest later than this date.
